Date: February 5-7, 2014
Event: Oracle Training Days
Presenter: Marc Beacom
Abstract: At one point or another, we are all faced with writing queries against different database platforms. This session will focus in on Oracle and SQL Server and review many of the similarities as well as differences between the two most popular database platforms.

We’ll go through code examples in PL/SQL and discover the T-SQL equivalent and vice versa such as Decode/Case, NVL/Isnull and Sysdate/Getdate to name a few. We’ll also go through a few coding scenarios such as traversing hierarchical data.
